Exhibition of paintings by Svitlana Kryzhevska "My Ukraine" and Stepan Hymochka "Towards the light of a day" in the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Israel
On June 1 at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Israel took place an opening of the exhibition of paintings by Svitlana Kryzhevska "My Ukraine" and Stepan Hymochka "Towards the light of a day."
Svetlana Kryzhevska - painter, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. She works in the genres of portraiture, landscape and still life. The leading theme of the artist is ethnography and people’s culture of Ukraine.
Born June 29, 1946, in Kharkov in the family of the artist. Lives and works in Odessa. In 1966 she graduated from Odessa State Art School named after Grekov, 1971 - Kyiv State Art Institute (now Academy of Arts).
Stepan Hymochka - painter in the third generation, grandson and son of icon painter from Myrgorod and educator of the Bessarabian village Starokozache, student of Mykola Pavlyuk, Tetiana Yablonska, Dina Frumina.
Painter and muralist, Stepan Hymochka absorbed the best traditions of Ukrainian and Russian realistic painting and synthesized them towards moderate avant-garde.
Organizer of the exhibition is Odessa House Museum of M.Roerih.
