President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held negotiations with President of Israel Reuven Rivlin.
In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral agenda and further development of traditionally friendly relations between Ukraine and Israel, as well as the enhancement of interaction of the two states in the resolution of topical international problems.
The President informed his colleague on the threatening development of the situation in Donbas.
The interlocutors confirmed the necessity of full implementation of the Minsk agreements and called for the immediate de-occupation of Crimea and restoration of Ukrainian sovereignty on the peninsula.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of Israel noted broad ties between the two countries in various spheres. "We will discuss our joint work aimed at building the better future for our nations," Reuven Rivlin said.
"Ukraine and Israel face serious problems today. The main problem is to protect the country from the external threat," the President of Israel noted.
Reuven Rivlin thanked the Ukrainian nation for the great contribution of Ukrainian people to the development of Israel. "The future motivates us to remember the lesson of the past," he said.
In his turn, the President of Ukraine said: "I came as President of the country, which fights for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity every day". He expressed admiration for the patriotism and courage of Israeli people who defend their sovereignty every day.
Speaking of transformation of Ukraine, President Poroshenko noted: "We carry out reforms and fight against corruption, which ruins our success from inside. We will not give up. Your knowledge and experience are essential".
The Head of State expressed confidence that the volume of Israeli investment in Ukraine would be increased and assured of Ukraine's readiness to help Israeli companies enter the Ukrainian market.
The Presidents confirmed mutual interest in the development of bilatral cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical, tourist and humanitarian spheres.
Petro Poroshenko thanked the President of Israel for the provision of financial and medical assistance to Ukrainians wounded in the course of the Revolution of Dignity and hostilities in the ATO area.
The parties noted the importance of political contacts at the highest level and supported the maintenance of dynamics of bilateral visits in the future.
The Head of State invited President Rivlin to make a visit to Ukraine in 2016.
