Trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and the State of Israel
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, as for the year 2019, the total trade turnover made US $ 1bln.116.3 m. and increased by 7.9 % compared to the previous year of 2018. Export made US $ 856 m. and increased by 9.5 %, while import – US $ 260.3 m. and decreased by 0.8%. Positive for Ukraine trade balance was US $ 595.7 m.
As for the year 2019, the trade in goods made US $ 836.8 m. and increased by 4.3% or US $ 34.1 m. compared to the previous year. Export of goods made US $ 620.1 m. and increased by 6.9 % (2018 - US $ 580 m.), while import – US $ 206.7 m. and decreased by 2.8 % (2018 - US $ 212.7 m.). Positive for Ukraine trade balance in goods was US $ 413.4 m.
The main exports of goods from Ukraine to Israel in 2019 were: cereals (51 %); ferrous metals (18 %); residues and waste from the food industry (6.5 %); oil and fats (4.1%), oil seeds and oleaginous plants (3.1%).
Main imports from Israel to Ukraine in 2019 were: various chemical products (30.5 %); mineral fuel, oil and products of their refining (13.8 %); goods procured in ports (12.4%); plastics, polymers (7.9 %); electric machines (5 %), nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery (4.4 %), edible fruits and nuts (3.3 %).
As for the year 2019 the trade in services made US $ 289.5 m. and increased by 15 % or US $ 37.9 m. compared to the previous year (2018 - US $ 251.6 m.). Export made US $ 235.9 m. and increased by 16.9 % (2018 - US $ 201.8 m.), while import – US $ 53.6 m. and increased by 7.7 % (2018 - US $ 49.8 m.). Positive for Ukraine trade balance in services was US $ 182.3 m.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, as for October 01, 2019 the volume of direct Israeli investment in Ukraine amounted US $ 57.7 m., representing 0.2% of the total FDI attracted to Ukrainian economy.
As for October 01, 2019 there was no official information regarding the volume of direct Ukrainian investment in Israel.
