On May 28-29, 2012 the political consultations between foreign ministries of Ukraine and Israel on the cooperation with the EU took place in Jerusalem. The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of MFA of Ukraine P.Klimkin.
R.Schutz, Deputy Director General for European Affairs, T.Rimon, Director of Department for Multilateral European Institutions and E.Lev, Director of Europe Department, Economic Affairs Division took part in the consultation from the Israeli side.
In the framework of the consultations Deputy Minister P.Klimkin held the meetings with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel D.Ayalon, Minister of Tourism of Israel S.Misezhnikov, the members of the Israeli Knesset (parliament).
Current issues of Ukrainian-Israeli bilateral relations were discussed during a meeting with the Deputy Director General of MFA of Israel A.Azari.
During the consultations the both sides outlined the main aspects of cooperation with the European Union particularly in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy and the Mediterranean Partnership.
Besides the different prospects of contemporary international security situation in the Middle East and Persian Gulf were also discussed.
