February 9, 2017 in the World Holocaust Remembrance Center "Yad Vashem" took place an award ceremony of the certificate and the medal of the Righteous Among the Nations to the family from Ukraine of Fadei and Yefrosinia Stepanyuk, who risking their own lives saved Jew Anna Sherman from death from the Nazis during the Second World War.

In a ceremony at the "Yad Vashem" took part Natalia Smashnyuk – great-granddaughter of Fadei and Yefrosinia Stepanyuk, who received the award of the Righteous Among the Nations, son of the rescued Anna Sherman, members of Memorial, representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine and other guests of the event.

As of February 2017 the honorary title of Righteous Among the Nations was awarded to 2544 Ukrainian citizens.
