On May 29 in Tel Aviv took place a presentation of Ukrainian-Israeli project - the film "Hope", made by Ukrainian director Serhii Krutsenko and Israeli producer Nahum Slutsker.
This event was dedicated to the sad date - the 75th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy.
The film has three storylines - a concert held in September 2016 at the National Philharmonic society of Ukraine performed by the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine and the Choir "Dumka" on symphonic works on biblical subjects "Abraham" and "Cain and Abel" by Israeli scholar and composer Baruch Berliner. Israeli reader, famous actor Alex Anski reads the Bible in Hebrew and simultaneously goes orchestral and choral music history - conductor is Volodymyr Sirenko.
On this music filmmakers filmed a symbolic way of a Jewish family to Babyn Yar. In parallel, Torah in the Synagogue of Kyiv.
But in this very tragic event filmmakers have made a bright final – in the end of the movie the family enters into the modern world, in today's life.
In his speech during the presentation of the movie "Hope" Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Hennadii Nadolenko thanked the filmmakers and all those working to preserve the memory of the tragic pages of history - the Holocaust, the Babyn Yar, Holodomor.
