On August 16, representatives of Association of Ukrainian immigrants in Israel have started a series of celebrations, dedicated to the 26th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine, having presented an evening of Ukraianin music and poetry to the guests of the house of assembly in Rishon Lezion.
Valentina Tchaikovska, Ukrainian-Israeli writer, initiator and host of the festive evening, with genuine love to Ukrainian language presented her poems. Oleksandrs Romanenko, member of Rishon literare studio, presented her poems about Ukraine. A special gift was a premiere of a song “My Mother Tongue” by Valentina Tchaikovska on the music of Anna Oleynikova. Also, traditional Ukrainian songs were performed by Klara Kan, Galyna Weiner and “Reut” group and sang along by all the guests.
Guests of the evening were greeted by head of the Rishon department of the Association of Ukrainian immigrants in Israel David Yarovyy, member of the CEO of the Union of Writers of Israel Michael Yuris, member of the Union of Writers of Israel Victor Levinshteyn and representatives of Association of Ukrainian immigrants in Israel.
The evening was a real festive occasion for everyone who wants to maintain ties with Ukraine, who loves and remembers Ukrainian language, enjoys Ukrainian songs and promotes friendship between Ukraine and Israel.
