February 26th, the Day of Crimean Resistance to Russian occupation, the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel joins the campaign "Crimea is Ukraine" in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the de-occupation of Crimea.
Four years ago, on February 26, 2014, a mass protest of Crimean Tatars and pro-Ukrainian activists in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine took place in Simferopol in front of the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea. On that day, two people were killed and several dozen injured as a result of the clashes. Subsequently, after the occupation of Crimea, Russia opened criminal case and staged political trials of Crimean Tatar activists who participated in the protest.
