On March 21st, 2018 in Nazareth-Illit, an official ceremony of signing a Agreement on the establishment of twin-towns relations between Uman and Nazareth-Illit took place. Representing the Ukrainian side, the Agreement was signed by the Mayor of Uman Olexander Tserbiy, and representing the Israeli side - by the Mayor of Nazareth-Illit Ronen Plot.

A Counsellor of the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel said in his welcoming speech that the signing of the Agreement is enhancing cooperation and opens up new opportunities for the development of intercultural dialogue. This further creates an opportunity for joint projects in the cultural, political, economic, humanitarian and touristic spheres. Most importantly, this is another proof of the strengthening of friendly relations between Ukraine and Israel.
