On May 16, 2018, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Israel Hennadii Nadolenko presented the Order of Merit of the 3 class to the participant of the uprising in the Nazi concentration camp Sobibor, Semen Rozenfeld.

A native of Ukraine S.Rozenfeld took an active part in the preparation of the uprising in the Sobibor camp. The uprising was one of the few successful uprisings in the Nazi death camps. After the uprising on 14 October 1943, the death camp, which took the lives of some 250,000 Jews in Sobibor only, was stopped.

The Order was awarded to S.Rozenfeld by a Decree of the President of Ukraine P.Poroshenko №11/2018.

The ceremony was attended by Semen Rozenfeld's son Mihailo Rozenfeld and representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel.
