On August 22, 2018, a concert on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine was held in Rishon LeZion. The event was organized by the Association of Ukrainian Immigrants in Israel.

Mykola Taranenko, counsellor at the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel, gave a speech and thanked the attendees for supporting the independence and the integrity of Ukraine. The diplomat conveyed the greetings of the Ambassador of Ukraine Hennadii Nadolenko.

Within the framework of the event, widely-known Ukrainian songs and poems were recited.
