On May 29, 2019, an evening dedicated to the 250th anniversary from the birth of Ivan Kotliarevskyi was held at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Bat-Yam. Ivan Kotliarevskyi was a prominent Ukrainian poet, playwright and public figure, one of the founders of the new Ukrainian literature. 

Olena Petrenko, the director of the Odessa M.Roerich House-Museum, shared with the audience her thoughts on his creative path and also spoke about two of his most famous works - the poem "Eneida" and the play "Natalka Poltavka”. 

Within the framework of the evening an exhibition of thematic posters was opened which will be exposed in the Ukrainian Cultural Center until June 25.
