On the Crimean Tatar Flag Day at the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel, the flag of the Crimean Tatars is waving next to the flag of Ukraine.
This Day reminds us of the unity of Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar people, as well as the violation of rights, repressions and discrimination against Crimean Tatars, since the beginning of Russia’s occupation of sovereign territory of Ukraine, the peninsula of Crimea.
The Crimean Tatar Flag Day is celebrated every year on June 26th starting from 2010. The date of celebration was chosen, as the first day of the second Kurultay, which was held in Simferopol on June 26-27, 1991.
The Crimean Tatar flag was adopted for the first time on the first Kurultay of the Crimean Tatar people in 1917.
