On October 6, 2019, Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Israel Hennadii Nadolenko took part in a ceremony devoted to the 78th anniversary of the tragedies in Babyn Yar and other parts of Ukraine.
A ceremony of laying of wreaths in the Hall of Remembrance of the Memorial complex Yad Vashem in Jerusalem was held and a movie about one of the worst tragedies in the history of humanity was screened.
In his speech, H.Nadolenko emphasized that Babyn Yar became a tragic symbol of the crimes of the Nazis against the Jewish people in Ukraine.

"I believe that we need to work constantly to save the memory about the tragedy. The horrible events of the past require us to educate new generations on principles of tolerance and understanding, to firmly stop those guided by prejudice and hatred”, - the Ambassador said.
Deputy of the Knesset, Minister of Environmental Protection of Israel, Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage Zeev Elkin, Director General of Yad Vashem Dorit Novak, Head of the Association of Ukrainian Immigrants in Israel David Levin and representatives of civil society took part at the ceremony.
