Due to the fact that the so-called march commemorating the day of the creation of the SS division named “Galicia" by the Nazis during the Second World War took place in Kyiv, we consider it necessary to note that the small number of participants and the manipulation of the organizers with the application to hold such an event cannot be the basis for in order to even try to justify this situation.

We strongly condemn any manifestation of propaganda of totalitarian regimes, in particular the National Socialist, and attempts to reconsider the truth about the Second World War. There was no and could not be any Ukrainian interest in the fact that the Nazis tried to use people in the occupied territories for their own purposes. The defeat of Nazism was a victory for our people. Ukrainians, together with other peoples, have won the right to life.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has already announced its condemnation of any manifestation or glorification of the Waffen-SS troops and reminded that propaganda of totalitarian regimes is unlawful in Ukraine. Our international partners have already been notified that violations of the relevant legislation in Ukraine will have logical and consequences for anyone who is guilty of it.

We expect the National Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to establish all the circumstances of what happened and bring to justice all those guilty of violating the law. Law enforcement officers have every opportunity to do so.

We expect the head of the Kyiv City State Administration to check the system for coordinating mass actions in the capital and a detailed report to the Kyiv community to enlighten why and how it became possible to hold this so-called march. We emphasize that the authorities in any civilized city should not put up with the fact that the organizers of such events can mislead both law enforcement officers and city leaders regarding their true goals.
