On August 14, an online meeting between the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Viktor Lyashko, and the Minister of Health and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the State of Israel, Moshe Arbel was held.
Minister Lyashko, expressing his gratitude for Israel's provision of humanitarian aid, in particular the treatment (prosthetics and rehabilitation) of Ukrainian defenders, the provision of medical equipment and medicines, requested that the Israeli government initiate a review of the decision to terminate the program of free medical insurance and services for refugees from Ukraine.
Minister Arbel received an invitation to participate in the Satellite Meeting of Ministers of Health within the framework of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen (September 6, 2023).
It should be noted that the International Medical Partnership Program is implemented under the auspices of the First Lady of Ukraine. The goal is to establish an effective partnership between specific health care institutions of Ukraine and foreign countries.
The Ukrainian side offered to sign relevant memorandums of cooperation during the forum.
Minister Arbel noted a high level of bilateral cooperation in the medical field, primarily in the context of providing assistance to Ukrainians affected by russian aggression. He also promised to consider the issue of a visit to Ukraine in the mentioned period and invited Minister Lyashko to visit Israel at a convenient time for the Ukrainian side.
