On May 19, 2012 the Days of Ukrainian Cinema were officially opened at the Jerusalem Cinematheque hall with the participation of the Ukrainian delegation which included among others the People Artists of Ukraine: film director R.Balayan, actor V.Talashko and actress O.Sumska.
The Ambassador of Ukraine in the State of Israel H.Nadolenko and deputy Knesset F.Kirshenbaum addressed to the audience with welcoming speeches.
The Days of Ukrainian Cinema began with demonstration of the films in the cities of Jerusalem (on May 19), Bat Yam (May 20) and Nazaret (May 23).
The program of the festival includes films which were made in different years at the National Dovzhenko Film Studio, which became the classics of domestic and world cinema: "Flights in a dream and reality," "Only ‘Old Men’ are Going to Battle", "Gogol", "Chasing Two Hares", "Black Hen or Underground Folks", " Korolev", "A Man with a Cinecamera".
