H.E. Mr. H.Nadolenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to the State Israel participated in the event, organized by the regional public organization «Chernobyl» (Union of citizens of Israel, who suffered from atomic catastrophes) and dedicated to the 26-th anniversary of Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster, which took place on May 15, 2012 in city of Beer-Sheva.

Speaking to the participants, the head of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission stressed upon gratitude of Ukraine to the people of different nationalities, who 26 years ago, risking their own lives, liquidated a threat for all humanity. H.Nadolenko also underlined, that thanking to efforts of the Ukrainian Authorities and donor-countries, on April 24, 2012, at the presence of the President of Ukraine, the technological cycle of works on building of the new safe confinement («Sarcophagus») on Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant was officially commenced. These works are to be completed by the year of 2015.

The ambassador of Ukraine also handed over the rewards of the All-Ukrainian public association «Afghans of Chornobyl» to the members «Chornobyl» organization.

The representatives of local authorities, public organizations and mass-media took part in the event.
