On March 8-9, 2017 in Tel-Aviv was held the fifth round of negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement with the State of Israel. During the talks, the Ukrainian delegation, which included representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Agrarian Policy, State Fiscal Service, the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel negotiated with their Israeli counterparts important provisions of the draft agreement. The progress has been made in the liberalization of trade of agricultural and industrial goods. It was agreed in principal the chapter on the rules of origin. The sides confirmed the consent on the use in the Agreement the provisions of the pan- Euro- Med Convention after its accession by Ukraine. In this context, the Israeli side confirmed its support for the Ukraine's accession to the said Convention by the expedited procedure.
As a result of the fifth round of negotiations, the parties signed a joint statement in which they fixed the basic agreements of this round, scheduled stages of the intercessional work and the agreement to hold the next round of negotiations in Kyiv.
