On June 15, at Jabotinsky Institute in Tel Aviv took place a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian literature and media - famous writer and poet Kateryna Babkina and journalist of "Gromadske Radio" Iryna Slavinska.
A few days before Kateryna Babkina and Iryna Slavinska represented Ukraine at the Jerusalem International Book Fair, where Kateryna also presented her book of poems translated by Anton Paperny into Hebrew (published by “Haver Laet").
During the event at the Jabotinsky Institute the participants spoke about their literary achievements and interest to their works among Israeli public. Ambassador of Ukraine in Israel Hennadii Nadolenko in his welcoming speech emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy in the development of relations between Ukrainian and Jewish people.
The venue - Jabotinsky Institute in Tel Aviv - was chosen because Zeev Jabotinsky urged Jewish people to cooperate with the Ukrainian national movement, as he saw common interest of the two peoples in the struggle for independence.
The event was organized by NGO «Israeli Friends of Ukraine» together with Canadian Fund «Ukrainian Jewish Encounter» with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel.
