In order to prevent violations of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and Israel and to resolve the issue of illegal employment of Ukrainian citizens in the State of Israel on March 14, Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Hennadii Nadolenko had a meeting with Director of the Eurasian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel Yakov Livne and the Director of the Department of Bilateral Agreements of the Israeli Ministry of Interior Shirly Raisine-Sasson, as well as with Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine Joel Leon in the format of conference call.
As it was emphasized during the meeting the legal way of employment of Ukrainian citizens in the labor market of the State of Israel is in accordance with the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the State of Israel on the Temporary Employment of Ukrainian Workers in Specific Labor Market Sectors in the State of Israel.
This agreement aims to normalize the employment of Ukrainian workers in certain sectors of the economy of Israel, in particular, in construction, in terms of annual quotas and social security under the Israeli law.
According to the agreement, skilled Ukrainian workers, with validated credentials can be employed in the construction sector of Israel. They will receive a guaranteed salary, medical insurance and will have adequate working conditions. Thus, the Agreement enables to increase the level of social and economic protection of Ukrainian citizens in Israel.
