On December 16, the delegation headed by Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Mrs. Lyudmyla Denisova paid a working visit to the State of Israel.
With the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel, delegation of Ukrainian Ombudsman met with Mr. Albert Sakharovich, Director-General of the Knesset of Israel, Mr. Matanyahu Engelman, State Comptroller and the Ombudsman of Israel, Mrs. Shoshana Strauss, Deputy District Attorney for the Population and Immigration Authority of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Israel, and with Mr. Gary Koren, Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Head of the Euro-Asian Department.
During the negotiations the sides discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda in the social field, in particular, mass denial of crossing the Israeli border to Ukrainians, the process of dealing with complaints of Ukrainian citizens held in prisons in Israel, the issue of employment of Ukrainian citizens in the Israeli labor market within the framework of the bilateral intergovernmental agreement, ratification by Ukraine the Social Security Agreement with Israel, etc.
The sides also discussed experience exchange within the framework of the Ombudsman's mandates and the functioning of the relevant offices.
