Elena Petrenko, the Director of the Museum, told the audience about the artistic heritage of Rerichs’ family and their ties with Ukraine. It was noted the impact of Ukrainian culture and in particular Taras Shevchenko’s works on the outlook of Nicolay Rerich. Guests also had a chance to see an exhibition of reproductions of Nicolay Rerich’s and Svetoslav Rerich’s paintings.

 At the same time the first issue of the Ukrainian-Israeli scientific magazine “League of Culture” was presented by Tatiana Slonimsky, the chief editor.

During the event a musical performance was made by Vladimir Vymchuk, klezmer winner 2001, violinist-virtuoso and Asia Lokshyna, concertmaster of the Israeli Opera, piano.
