On February 23, 2021, the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel together with the Council of Exporters and Investors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the State Institution “Ukrainian Export Promotion Office” and with the support of the Ukrainian-Israeli Alliance NGO held a ZOOM-conference : «Ukraine-Israel Free trade zone : new opportunities and prospects for business».

The moderator of the event, which was attended by government officials, diplomats and about 200 companies from all regions of Ukraine, was the Director of the Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Ponomarenko.

Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Israel Yevhen Korniychuk, against the background of the entry into force on January 1, 2021 of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Israel, as well as changes in the region, especially the normalization of Jewish relations with a number of Arab countries, stressed prospects of the economic component of Ukraine's relations with the State of Israel.

The webinar focused on the following issues:

∙ main export commodity groups from Ukraine to Israel

∙ structure of Israeli exports to Ukraine

∙ expansion of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries

∙ changes in tariff policy

∙ traditions and features of the Israeli market and doing business in Israel

∙ commodity groups and levels of import regime in the State of Israel

∙ technical regulation of exports and imports in Israel

Summing up the event, Ambassador Yevhen Korniychuk informed its participants about the priorities of the Embassy of Ukraine in the economic field, including intensifying interregional cooperation and promoting the interests of small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine by: advising on a wide range of bilateral cooperation and Israeli economy; organization of professional tours to specialized facilities in Israel; participation in exhibitions, fairs and other presentation and thematic events; finding partners.

The organization of a number of bilateral online and offline events (summits, webinars, presentations, etc.), regional / groups road shows in Ukraine and Israel on the following topics: food industry, agriculture, real estate, IT, education, medicine, tourism.
