"Since The Times of Israel published tonight an article citing some of my statements on Jerusalem, I would like to clarify the following.
Ukraine has been strongly supporting the efforts of the international community aimed at achieving a lasting peace in the Middle East, where all nations can live side-by-side in peace and security.
We believe the issue of Jerusalem must be resolved through negotiations on the basis of the relevant UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions.
Ukraine and Israel are bound by the close historical, cultural, and people-to-people ties. We highly appreciate that over the recent years, our political, trade and economic relations have also been flourishing.
As a further step towards deepening our special relationship, Ukraine is considering opening an office in Jerusalem to promote the mutually beneficial cooperation in the IT sector and investments, while Ukrainian embassy continues to operate in Tel Aviv".
